Introduction

Our Client is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the core Software Engineering team within their global IT Hub, driving the "Technical Campaign Decision" platform.

This unified platform oversees the end-to-end management of vehicle field defects, error assessments, and technical campaigns worldwide integrating the core applications TADB.

Next (technical action database and gateway extensions) and TCP (Technical Campaign Portal for stakeholder decisions and error tracking).

In this role, you will take technical ownership of Java enterprise backends and modern Angular frontends, while championing AI-assisted engineering practices and automated cloud deployments on Microsoft Azure.

• Enterprise Full Stack Foundations: 10+ years of dedicated development experience with Java (Quarkus, GlassFish) and Angular/TypeScript, paired with relational database expertise across Oracle (PL/SQL) and PostgreSQL.

• AI-Assisted Engineering & Context Design: Practical mastery using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot or equivalent) as a standard delivery mechanism, with a strong grasp of context engineering, AI guardrails, responsible AI practices, and RAG concepts.

• Cloud, Containers & CI/CD Pipelines: Deep experience orchestrating container workloads with Docker and Kubernetes, building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Maven, SonarQube), and deploying secure solutions on Microsoft Azure.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Engineering: Conduct system analysis, design, development, and testing for defect management and campaign tracking applications in an Agile/DevOps model.

• AI Toolchain Integration: Solve complex engineering problems and accelerate delivery using AI coding assistants and cloud-native toolchains as a standard part of delivery.

• Pipeline Automation: Create and maintain automated deployment pipelines to enhance deployment agility, code quality, and release speed.

• Tier-2/Tier-3 Support: Resolve escalated production support incidents to guarantee high availability and stability for mission-critical quality platforms.

• System Modernization: Plan and execute version upgrades, security hardening, and technical feature enhancements across the application landscape.

Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn. Please note that relocation to the province will be at the candidate's own cost.

• Languages: Java and TypeScript.

• Frontend: Angular and JSF.

• Java Application Servers: Quarkus, GlassFish, and GlassFish Micro.

• Web Servers: Apache and Nginx.

• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, and PL/SQL.

AI-Assisted Engineering & Context Design

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot or equivalent) embedded into daily delivery workflows.

• Understanding of context engineering principles for enterprise AI solutions.

• Working familiarity with AI evaluation, safety guardrails, and responsible AI practices.

DevOps, Containers & Cloud

• Containers & Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes.

• Cloud Platform: Microsoft Azure (preferred).

• CI/CD & Tooling: Maven, Git, SonarQube, Jira, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and container registries.

• Secure coding practices and application vulnerability protection.

Advantageous Skills

• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and AI orchestration frameworks.

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation).

• Test automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).

• Observability, application performance monitoring, and Tier-2/3 incident troubleshooting.
