Advanced Full Stack Developer (Angular & Cloud) (Contract) - Gauteng/Hybrid - ISB8001492

Introduction

Our Client is looking for an Advanced Full Stack Developer to join the core Software Engineering team within their global IT Hub, supporting the "Supplier Call Off and Supply Chain Control" product portfolio.

This product suite delivers standardized IT processes for demand planning, call-off generation, lot-size material planning, and supply chain track-and-trace capabilities that safeguard part supplies across global production plants.

In this role, you will build and maintain frontend interfaces ( Angular/React ) and backend services ( Java/Python), expand automated test coverage, and support cloud deployments and operational stability on Microsoft Azure.

• Frontend & Test Automation: 4+ years of dedicated frontend engineering experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS (Angular v9+ or React) paired with 3+ years implementing automated UI testing using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.

• Backend Services & Frameworks: 4+ years of backend development experience in Java (JavaEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Quarkus) and/or Python (3.9+, Flask, Django) with proven API design capabilities.

• Cloud & DevOps Integration: Practical experience deploying and managing applications on Microsoft Azure, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions), and automated provisioning with Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.

• Location: Midrand / Menlyn / Rosslyn / Home Office Rotation

• Level: Advanced (4-6 Years related experience)

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Full Stack Feature Delivery: Design, code, and maintain new functionalities across Angular frontends and Java/Python backend services.

• Test Automation & Quality: Develop automated test suites, expand test coverage, and resolve defects to maintain high release quality.

• API Development: Build and maintain performant APIs connecting frontend interfaces to backend microservices.

• Operational Excellence (L2/L3): Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for production incidents, conduct error analysis, and assist rollout cycles across international teams.

• Cross-Team Collaboration: Conduct code reviews and quality checks across distributed delivery squads (South Africa and Germany).

Location & Relocation

Applicants based outside of Gauteng must be willing to relocate to Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn. Please note that relocation to the province will be at the candidate's own cost.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar qualification.

• Minimum of 4+ years of dedicated Frontend development experience.

• Minimum of 4+ years of dedicated Backend development experience.

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Public Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure).

Essential Skills & Technologies

Frontend & Testing

• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.

• Thorough knowledge of modern UI frameworks: Angular (Version 9+) or React.

• 3+ years of experience using automated test frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).

Backend & APIs

• 4+ years of development experience in Java (JavaEE) and/or Python (3.9 upwards).

• 1+ years with backend frameworks: Java (Spring, Spring Boot, Quarkus) or Python (Flask, Django).

• 1+ years with automated testing frameworks (Unit through to End-to-End).

• RESTful API development and backend integration.

Cloud, DevOps & Governance

• Containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes and Docker.

• CI/CD automation and pipeline setup (GitHub Actions).

• Automated infrastructure provisioning and GitOps: Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, Flux, or Helm.

• Public cloud administration with Microsoft Azure.

• Monitoring, logging, and ITIL operational processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).

Advantageous Skills

• Experience with event streaming architectures (Apache Kafka).

• Knowledge of developing and maintaining microservices architectures.

• Practical Agile development experience (Scrum).

• Exposure to SAP enterprise environments (ECC, S/4HANA).
