Purpose of the role

  • The Administration Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Cape Town administration team to ensure accurate, efficient and consistent service delivery.
  • The position also plays an important role in supporting the growth and scalability of SALT's Umbrella Funds by ensuring that member and employer administration processes remain effective, well controlled and responsive to business needs.
  • As membership and participating employer numbers increase, the Administration Manager plays an increasingly important role in maintaining operational quality, supporting employee performance and ensuring operational resilience.

  • Oversees day-to-day administration and operational performance
  • Workload management allocation

  • Manage and maintain operational risk and discipline

  • Timely escalation of operational issues
  • Strong client-focused service culture
  • Supporting operational readiness as the Umbrella Funds and participating employer base grow
  • Supervising Administrators
  • Coaching staff
  • Monitoring team productivity
  • Responsible for new client set-up, installation and onboarding
  • Drafting client special rules in line with applicable templates
  • Monitoring and tracking S13A contributions on a monthly basis

Qualifications

  • Employee Benefits / Retirement Funds knowledge and experience is key

  • Minimum qualification: Matric and relevant certificates/diploma course in employee benefits, excel, MS word. Relevant retirement fund, employee benefits, regulatory or management qualifications will be advantageous.

Experience required: The successful candidate should have appropriate experience in:

  • Retirement fund and/or employee benefits administration
  • Member and participating employer administration
  • Benefit and claims processing
  • Administration operations management
  • Managing or supervising administration employees
  • SLA and turnaround-time management
  • Quality assurance and operational controls
  • Client and stakeholder servicing
  • Operational reporting
  • Complaint and query resolution
  • Process improvement and workflow management
  • Minimum relevant experience: 5 years and more
  • Minimum management / supervisory experience: 3 years and more
